Job summary

Waabi is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for its Class 8 autonomous trucking fleet. You will perform inspections, diagnose complex electrical and mechanical issues, and execute repairs in line with safety protocols and Waabi guidelines.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, teamwork, and flexibility to work night shifts (11pm–7:30am) and travel as needed, with opportunities to contribute to new features and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred in automotive technology, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a technician or mechanic in automotive, heavy-duty trucking, or technology sectors; ASE certifications desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with truck maintenance, repair, and autonomous driving tech, including sensors and GPS.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools, software, and equipment for maintenance and repair.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the Waabi Class 8 autonomous trucking fleet for safety and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; repair or replace faulty components.
• Adhere to Waabi work instructions, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols during service.
• Collaborate with teams to provide feedback and assist in developing new features or upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Provide technical support to truck operators on vehicle systems and procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technology advances, and regulatory requirements for autonomous vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
