Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a robotics engineer to scale autonomous delivery robotics by advancing HD mapping, localization, and SLAM for dynamic urban environments. You will drive architecture and technical direction across teams to deliver integrated solutions.

You will collaborate with perception, hardware, and autonomy groups to implement robust localization and multi-sensor fusion, leveraging C/C++ and Python and 4+ years in AV/robotics.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S./PhD in CS/Robotics or related field.
• 4+ years in AV/Robotics/embedded systems.
• Experience with C/C++ and Python.
• Deep expertise in 3D geometry and spatial reasoning.
• LiDAR- and/or vision-based 3D registration (ICP variants, feature-based, global registration, loop closure).
• Large-scale non-linear optimization.
• State estimation (EKF/UKF, factor graphs, smoothing and filtering).

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy production-grade SLAM for large-scale HD maps.
• Design robust 3D registration pipelines for noisy, large environments.
• Develop state estimation systems for real-world localization.
• Partner with perception, hardware, and autonomy teams to integrate solutions.
