Vantor Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer with strong AI/ML experience to join a team that develops autonomous planning, scheduling, and optimization systems for Earth Observation satellite operations.

You will apply reinforcement learning and optimization techniques to create scalable solutions, collaborating with aerospace engineers, mission operators, and software teams in Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO with core in-office days Tuesday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience with modern AI-assisted technologies.
• Strong Java skills in a Spring-boot micro-service environment.
• Experience with ML or optimization systems and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable RL, optimization, and decision-making algorithms for satellite tasking and planning.
• Build high-fidelity simulation and evaluation environments for training autonomous planning strategies.
• Develop multi-objective pipelines balancing coverage, latency, resources, and mission success.
• Collaborate with aerospace engineers, operators, and product teams to translate requirements into deployable AI systems.
