Vantor Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer with strong AI/ML experience to join a team building autonomous planning, scheduling, and optimization systems for Earth Observation satellite operations.

You will apply reinforcement learning, operations research, and sequential decision-making to optimize constellation tasking. The role is based onsite in Westminster, CO or Herndon, VA with core in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays; occasional support may be required for customer or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
• 5+ years of software development with modern AI-assisted technologies.
• Strong Java programming including Spring-boot in microservice environments.
• Solid fundamentals: automated testing, CI/CD, version control, containerized deployments.
• Experience developing machine learning and/or optimization systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable RL, optimization, and decision-making algorithms for satellite tasking and planning.
• Build high-fidelity simulation and evaluation environments for training autonomous planning strategies.
• Develop multi-objective optimization pipelines balancing coverage, latency, resources, and mission metrics.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to translate requirements into deployable AI systems.
