Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks PhD-equipped engineers to tackle challenging robotics problems across software, hardware, and field testing. You will join a collaborative team spanning machine perception, control systems, data fusion, and autonomous decision-making for Navy applications.

You’ll contribute to prototype development, work with multidisciplinary experts, and advance solutions from concept to field testing while pursuing innovative engineering

Qualifications

  • Have a PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Skilled in software or mechanical design methodologies and techniques for robotic systems.
  • Passion for learning and willingness to acquire new skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype next-generation robotic solutions for Navy challenges.
  • Work on highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams spanning software and hardware.
  • Be part of an experienced team delivering rapid prototyping from conception to field testing.
