Job summary

UVA Primary Care Riverside in Charlottesville, VA seeks an Autonomous Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for outpatient practice. The role requires 2-3 years of experience and offers a 4x10 hour workweek (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) with Monday-Friday hours.

Responsibilities include independent assessment, diagnoses, ordering studies, prescribing under Virginia regulations, and collaborating with the health system team. UVA Health System supports professional development and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-3 years of experience in psychiatric/primary care settings.
• Graduate of an accredited graduate nursing or physician assistant program with master’s degree.
• Virginia APRN or PA license and credentialing for UVA Health System.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with medical director and interprofessional team to coordinate patient care.
• Perform comprehensive health histories and physicals; initiate CPR when needed.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies in consultation with peers.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with Virginia prescriptive regulations.
• Provide patient education and follow-up to support treatment plans.
• Participate in on-call coverage as required.
