Job summary

Saronic Technologies in Virginia Beach is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel systems on autonomous surface vessels. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with up to 80% travel to partner and customer locations.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience in automotive, aerospace, marine, or related fields and be able to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience in automotive, aerospace, heavy industrial, marine, or related field.
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting including reading wiring diagrams and isolating faults.
• Familiarity with maintenance and repair of diesel engines and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, wiring issues, and system-level problems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions using manuals and hands-on techniques.
• Inspect and test components and systems to address potential problems.
• Support engine-level maintenance including fluid systems and cooling systems; assist with overhauls.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs including parts and labor hours.
• Follow safety protocols and handle hazardous materials properly.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operators to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
