Job summary

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Corrections Medical Services Team in the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. You will perform inmate care, fill prescriptions, document in EMR, and support physicians in a high-autonomy environment.

Must hold Florida LPN licensure with CPR/OSHA CEUs and a valid Florida Driver's License. Salary is negotiable; closing date is November 3, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• CPR, OSHA updates, CEU certifications as required for licensure.
• Valid Florida Driver's License and active licensure.

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen inmates to obtain medical information.
• Provide initial inmate care and perform physical assessments.
• Document care and assessments per policy, using EMR.
• Administer medications as directed and maintain drug counts.
• Assist physicians, transcribe orders, and provide emergency care as needed.
• Maintain compliance with division policies and prepare medical documents.
