Job summary

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Corrections Health Services team at the Pinellas County Jail. You will provide high-quality nursing care, administer medications, triage sick calls, and respond to emergencies in a collaborative environment with physicians and RNs.

The ideal candidate demonstrates clinical judgment, organization, independence, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
• Licensed as a LPN in the State of Florida.
• Maintain unrestricted credentials per licensure requirements.
• Satisfactory completion of 30+ hour IV Certification.
• CPR – BLS or ACLS Certification.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Credit check required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments and assist with nursing care plans.
• Triage sick calls and refer inmates to an RN or higher provider.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in orientation.
• Assist with physician orders and implement them.
• Document inmate contacts using SOAP notes and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain logs, stock supplies, and keep a clean work area.
• Respond to medical emergencies with required equipment.
• Regular attendance is essential and shift-based duties apply.
