Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for Hematology Oncology at Cape May - Full Time. The APP will assess, diagnose, treat and manage patient health needs, performing histories, physicals, and developing care plans in collaboration with a supervising physician.

Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing therapies, education, and preventive care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required for NP or PA licensure.
• License/certification as NJ-APN/RN or PA is required; AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients’ health needs in hematology/oncology.
• Perform patient history and physical examinations to determine working diagnoses and care plans.
• Order, perform, supervise, and interpret diagnostic tests and labs; prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
• Provide teaching, education and counseling to patients and families.
• Consult with supervising physician for uncommon or unstable conditions.
• Emphasize health promotion and disease prevention.
• Act as health care researcher, educator, and interdisciplinary consultant.
