Job summary

Bedrock Robotics Inc. is seeking a V&V intern to help validate hardware actuators and close the sim-to-real gap on heavy equipment systems. You’ll design black-box tests, instrument hardware, and collect datasets from real machines and test stands.

You’ll work with world-class engineers to quantify differences between simulation and reality, propose model improvements, and automate test runs to become routine in development cycles. PPE provided for field work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed engineering degree with hands-on hardware experience.
• Experience with controls or system identification concepts.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, DAQ, or test benches.
• Willingness to spend real time on machines in PPE.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute black-box test plans for actuator behavior on machines and test stands.
• Instrument hardware, set up data acquisition, and collect clean datasets.
• Characterize latency, hysteresis, and saturation and how they vary with temperature, load, and wear.
• Compare real machine data to simulation output and quantify divergences.
• Provide findings to controls and simulation teams as model improvements.
• Automate test execution and reporting to make runs routine.
