Job summary

Trillium Drivers in Houston, TX is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Test Operators with a CDL Class A to join our cutting-edge testing team.

You will safely operate autonomous trucks, collect high-quality data, and work in a two-person crew. Expect travel across the United States for 4–5 days at a time with 2–3 days home, weekends not required. Per diem and hotel accommodations are provided, and compensation is competitive.

Qualifications

• Valid Interstate Class A CDL
• Minimum of 3 years of recent commercial driving experience
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, FMCSA qualification
• Clean driving record per MVR standards
• Strong mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting
• Comfortable using laptops/tablets/digital apps
• Experience with Google Workspace
• Experience with Jira or similar ticket systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in DOT-compliant manner
• Execute structured routes and testing protocols to collect data
• Work as part of two-person team, rotating driving and passenger duties
• Operate mission software and monitor real-time vehicle performance
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and verify sensors/software readiness
• Identify and tag roadway events for engineering review
• Troubleshoot onboard hardware/software with remote support
• Document observations and provide feedback on vehicle performance

Trillium Drivers is now seeking Autonomous Vehicle Test Operators with a CDL Class A license out of Houston, TX!

Pay rate is $31-35/hr plus $80 per diem/day and hotel while traveling. Schedule will vary depending on route. Drivers will be out traveling 4-5 days, home 2-3 days. No weekends!

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles while strictly adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Execute structured driving routes and technical testing protocols to collect high-quality operational data.
• Work as part of a two-person team, rotating between driving and passenger responsibilities.
• Operate mission software, monitor real-time vehicle performance, and document testing events.
• Complete detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including verification of sensor calibrations and software readiness.
• Identify and digitally tag roadway events such as construction zones, traffic patterns, or unusual driving conditions for engineering review.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of onboard hardware and software with remote engineering support.
• Accurately document observations and provide detailed feedback regarding vehicle performance.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interstate Class A CDL

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting

• Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
