Job summary

Steindler Orthopedic Clinic is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider – Adult Reconstruction (PA-C or NP) to join our orthopedic team in Eastern Iowa. You will manage patients across the joint replacement journey, from initial evaluation through recovery, with autonomy to practice at the top of your scope and collaborate closely with surgeons.

The ideal candidate has PA-C or NP training, Iowa licensure eligibility, national certification, and DEA and BLS credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Iowa licensure, or eligibility for Iowa licensure, as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.
• Current national certification appropriate to the APP's profession.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility for registration.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and manage new and established patients with orthopedic conditions, focusing on hip and knee issues and joint replacement.
• Obtain histories, perform exams, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, surgeries, risks and recovery.
• Prepare patients for joint replacement and coordinate preoperative requirements.
• Conduct preoperative and postoperative evaluations and manage postoperative care.
