Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an experienced automotive engineer to design and develop wire harnesses and electrical wiring systems for vehicle programs. You will create 2D/3D drawings, review schematics, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and on-time launches.

You will perform routing, packaging, and installation studies, select components, and contribute to design reviews, DFMEA, and engineering changes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive engineering experience.
• Strong wire harness / electrical wiring experience.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of automotive connectors, terminals, grounding, circuit protection, and wire sizing.
• Experience with harness routing and electrical packaging.
• 3D CAD experience such as Siemens NX, CATIA, or equivalent.
• Understanding of automotive electrical systems and vehicle architecture.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive wire harnesses and electrical wiring systems.
• Create and review 2D/3D wiring harness drawings and electrical schematics.
• Perform harness routing, packaging, clearance, and installation studies.
• Select appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, fuses, clips, brackets, and protective coverings.
• Work with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and supplier engineering teams.
• Support design changes, engineering releases, and issue resolution.
• Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, prototype builds, and vehicle launches.
• Troubleshoot wiring and electrical integration issues.
• Ensure designs meet automotive quality, safety, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements.
• Support suppliers and manufacturing teams during development and production launch.
