Cox Automotive is hiring an Automotive Inspector Apprentice to support accurate, timely vehicle inspections for our remarketing and digital platforms. In this entry-level role, you’ll learn to evaluate exterior, interior, and mechanical condition, capture photos, and record findings using mobile tools. Working primarily at auction and client locations, you’ll verify VINs, options, and damage, follow safety and quality standards, and partner with senior inspectors. • Assist with end-to-end vehicle inspections at auctions and client sites, including exterior, interior, and basic mechanical review
• Capture clear, complete photos and documentation of vehicle condition using mobile or tablet-based tools
• Verify VIN, mileage, equipment, and options to ensure accurate listings for buyers and digital platforms
• Identify and record damage, wear, and missing components based on Cox Automotive and client standards
• Follow safety, quality, and inspection procedures while working in lanes, lots, and shop/yard environments
• Collaborate with senior inspectors and operations teams to prioritize work and meet service-level timelines
• Communicate professionally with dealers, drivers, and internal teams regarding vehicle status or inspection questions
• Protect customer property and company equipment while maintaining a clean, organized work area
• Participate in training to learn Cox Automotive systems, inspection standards, and best practices
