Job summary

AB Dynamics is seeking a Test Engineer to plan, execute, and document vehicle dynamics and ADAS test programs. You will work with driving robots, ADAS targets, and instrumentation to deliver validated test results for customers.

The role requires hands-on testing, data analysis, and clear technical reporting, with a focus on safety and performance standards. Located in Bakersfield, CA, on-site with the Testing Services department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ automotive testing experience for US FMVSS standards (FMVSS108/126/135).
• Experience creating technical reports, engineering docs, and test summaries.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, handling, braking, and ESC systems.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (jump starting, tire changes).
• Knowledge of physics, electronics, dynamics, mechanical design, data protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience with MATLAB or other coding language.
• Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document vehicle testing programs focused on dynamics, ADAS, ESC, and automated driving tech.
• Analyze test data to identify improvements and ensure safety/performance standards.
• Prepare test plans, procedures, engineering summaries, and validation reports.
• Translate findings into actionable conclusions and recommendations.
• Maintain test documentation and coordinate with clients and internal teams.
• Operate and maintain test equipment and assist with specialized test gear.
