Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Test and Validation Engineer for an on-site role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will design test plans, execute tests, analyze results, and prepare technical reports to guide product development in automotive components and systems.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background with at least 3 years in test and validation, proficiency with test equipment and data acquisition, and a detail-oriented mindset for accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in test and validation engineering, preferably in automotive.
• Experience with SAE/ISO standards and test documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for automotive components and systems.
• Conduct various tests, including performance, durability, environmental, and functional testing.
• Operate and maintain test equipment, including dynamometers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems.
• Analyze test data using statistical methods and identify performance deviations or failures.
• Document test results accurately and create detailed technical reports for engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot issues encountered during testing and collaborate with engineers to find solutions.
• Ensure that all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., SAE, ISO) and customer specifications.
• Validate prototype components and production parts against design requirements.
• Recommend product improvements based on test findings.
• Maintain a safe and organized test environment.
