Kia Retailers are offering skilled and experienced military Veterans the opportunity to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician. Kia America, Inc. has established the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) to support this initiative.

Job Description
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
  • Complete repair orders and warranty request orders following Kia and Retailer policies.
  • Test drive vehicles and analyze, diagnose, and repair components using Kia diagnostic tools and strategies.
  • Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs efficiently while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to ensure a good customer experience.

All potential employment opportunities listed are with independently owned and operated Kia Retailers. Applicants are applying for full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer, not with KUS or ERS. Employment is subject to applicable laws and each Kia Retailer’s policies.

KUS and ERS do not guarantee employment to participants of VTAP. Employment decisions are at each Kia Retailer’s discretion and depend on meeting eligibility, skill, and experience requirements.

Requirements
  • Honorable Discharge from military service.
  • Valid driver’s license from any state with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
  • Willingness to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.
