Job summary

Bob Tyler Toyota is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician Trainer / Instructor to help develop the next generation of automotive technicians. This role is ideal for a seasoned technician who enjoys sharing knowledge, coaching others, and helping people build successful careers within a dynamic dealership environment.

You will lead hands-on instruction, design curriculum, mentor students, and ensure high standards of diagnostic skill, safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years automotive technician experience.
• ASE Master Technician certification is a plus.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to teach technicians with different experience levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach proper diagnostic and repair procedures.
• Develop and update training curriculum.
• Mentor students as they progress toward becoming productive technicians.
• Evaluate student progress and adjust coaching.
• Collaborate with dealership service team to align training with real-world operations.
• Ensure shop safety and professional standards.

What We're Looking For:

• Automotive Technician experience required – a minimum of 5 years preferred
• ASE Master Technician certification is a plus
• Toyota or other manufacturer certifications are a plus
• Strong diagnostic and electrical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to teach technicians with different experience levels
• Passion for developing people and building successful technicians
• Valid driver's license
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident.
