Job summary

Avis Budget Group International is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) in Indianapolis to perform essential repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles. You’ll handle oil changes, tires, brakes, suspension, and warranty repairs with guidance from senior technicians.

Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years of auto repair experience or automotive coursework with ASE certification, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Knowledge of ASE areas including engine repair, driveline, suspension, brakes, electrical, HVAC and related systems.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, bending and driving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal supervision.
• Oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension work and warranty-related repairs as assigned.
• Support senior technicians with more complex diagnostics to build skills and ensure vehicle reliability.

WhatYou’llDo:

As an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech), you will perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal technical supervision. Your responsibilities may include oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs, and other routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs based on your experience level.

You may also support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as you continue to build your skills. Bymaintainingvehicle reliability and safety, your work helps reduce downtime and ensures vehicles are ready when customers need them—directly contributing to a positive customer experience.

WhatWe’reLooking For:

• Valid Driver’s License andgood drivingrecord
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2additionalASE certifications within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Must have a complete set of toolsrequiredfor automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able tolift upto 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk,sitand kneelfrequently, enter,exitand drive vehicles
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
• PreviousOriginal Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
