Job summary

Avis Budget Group International is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) in Cleveland, OH. You will perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles, with responsibilities including oil, tire, brake, and suspension work, and broader maintenance tasks under minimal supervision.

You’ll support senior technicians, build ASE credentials, and help ensure vehicle safety and availability for customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas such as Engine Repair, Drivetrain, Suspension, Brakes, Electrical, HVAC, Engine Performance, Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Must have complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Must be 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• On-site presence is required; remote work is not possible.
• OEM experience is preferred and advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles.
• Oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brakes, suspension and routine maintenance.
• Assist senior technicians with diagnostics and more complex repairs as skills grow.
• Contribute to vehicle reliability and safety to minimize downtime and ensure customer readiness.

What You’ll Do:

As an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech), you will perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal technical supervision. Your responsibilities may include oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs, and other routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs based on your experience level.

You may also support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as you continue to build your skills. By maintaining vehicle reliability and safety, your work helps reduce downtime and ensures vehicles are ready when customers need them—directly contributing to a positive customer experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications

• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
• Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
