U.S. Postal Service in Miami, FL is seeking a skilled automotive maintenance technician to diagnose, repair, and service a variety of postal fleet vehicles.

You will use computerized test equipment, perform inspections, and maintain accurate work orders while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot complex systems, collaborate with other technicians, and follow preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime for critical mail delivery

Responsabilités

• Diagnose operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and perform engine checks.
• Perform computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment; interpret codes and information.
• Conduct visual and auditory vehicle inspections, road calls and road tests; annotate problems on work orders.
• Provide technical guidance to mechanics on difficult repairs and use of specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs resulting from normal preventive maintenance inspections.
• Prepare and update vehicle records; annotate labor time, parts and equipment on work orders.
• Perform engine tune-ups; remove/replace/adjust/clean parts; use test equipment to adjust to operating tolerances.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning vehicles from road calls and identify faulty parts for repair or replacement.
• Repair and replace major components including transmissions, differentials, brake systems, power assist units, steering and suspension.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities in support of primary duties.
• Follow all established safety practices and comply with environmental regulations and policies.
