Job summary

America's Auto Auction is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Automotive Technician/Mechanic for the Baton Rouge/Hammond region. The role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in cars, vans, and light trucks, including gas and diesel engines.

Compensation ranges from $65,000 to $75,000 with a comprehensive benefits package. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, no nights or weekends, and travel with a demo van to both auctions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive technician/mechanic experience.
• Gas and diesel engine diagnostic experience.
• Able to work on various makes and models.
• Good set of tools (specialty tools provided).
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and repair techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on cars, vans, and light trucks.
• Perform engine tune-ups and troubleshoot complex vehicle issues.
• Repair or replace parts and components as needed.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Provide courteous, efficient customer service.
• Communicate operational concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Work independently and collaboratively with the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
