Role Description

At a minimum, all candidates must have a current Smog Test and Repair license. We are looking for an Individual who has a good understanding of all automotive systems. As the business name states, we do a lot of cooling system and A/C work, so a MACS 609 license will be needed or acquired within the 1st year. You will need the ability to diagnose and repair most vehicle systems, which include, but are not limited to, engine, transmission, ABS, Traction Control, Electrical, HVAC, Airbag, Body control systems, and other vehicle systems. You should have good electrical knowledge, as we have a lot of electrical work here. Besides driveability and diagnostics, you should be well-rounded in general repair on a variety of manufacturers' vehicle makes and models. This may be stating the obvious, but the technician must have a thorough set of their own general repair tools.

Qualifications

Current Smog Test and Repair license with experience in smog inspections and understanding of state emission control requirements
Strong diagnostic skills, including drivability diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, and for general repair
Knowledge of most automotive systems and mechanical repairs
Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients when needed
Attention to detail and the ability to document work accurately
Master ASE certification or equivalent qualifications are a plus
Previous or ongoing automotive technical training is an advantage

Benefits and Perks

For qualified candidates joining our team at Lakeside Radiator and Auto Repair:

Pay range will be $38-$50 flat rate per hour and will vary based on your experience and qualifications (Master ASE Certified is a huge plus).
The more current ASE certifications and experience you have, the higher the starting pay.
There is an opportunity for performance-based bonuses which is not set by an unrealistic goal.
Paid vacation and holiday pay will be paid for most major holidays after a probationary period.
Medical insurance with partial coverage paid by the employer after the initial probationary period.
