Job summary

AutoNation is seeking an Automotive Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance, following dealer and factory standards to ensure safety and reliability. You will communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to keep operations smooth and document all work on repair orders.

The role requires at least 2 years of experience and ASE/OEM certification where available. We offer factory training, competitive pay and benefits, and opportunities for growth across locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• ASE and/or OEM certification preferred.
• Automotive technical training as needed by store.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance as outlined on the repair order in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communications.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend safety and reliability improvements.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of special tools not normally inventoried by Service department.
• Stay updated with factory technical bulletins and participate in training classes.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record

This position pays from $26.00 to $54.00 per flat rate hour.
