Job summary

Tidewater Tech in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Automotive Technology Instructor to deliver hands-on instruction in classrooms and labs. The role supports student success, maintains safety, and helps with curriculum development and records.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years of practical automotive industry experience.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, repair procedures, and safety standards.
• Ability to teach both day and evening classes.

• Participate in required training, professional development, and instructor development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.

Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available!

Location: 4535 E Princess Anne Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502

Compensation: up to $35/hour + $2500 Sign on Bonus

Schedule: Monday - Thursday(Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OFF!)

• 4:00 PM - 10:30 PM OR12:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three (3) years of practical automotive industry experience.

Certifications

• ASE Certification equal to the level of classes taught (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, repair procedures, and industry safety standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
• Proficiency with computers and instructional technology.
• Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and commitment to student success.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and teach both day and evening classes.
• Commitment to completing at least 20 hours of annual technical update training.
• No prior teaching experience required. We provide a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you successfully transition into the classroom.
