Job summary

DEKRA North America in Plano, TX is seeking an Automotive Technician to perform tests and inspections, service vehicles, manage cash, and maintain the station and equipment, following DEKRA standards and local regulations.

The role requires emissions testing certification, valid driver's license, 1–2 years retail automotive experience, oil and lube familiarity, and a strong commitment to customer service; on-site, full-time with base pay $13–$15 per hour plus commission and a monthly bonus.

Qualifications

• Oil and lube experience preferred.
• 1-2 years automotive retail experience preferred.
• Certifications/Licenses: Certification to perform emissions tests and inspections.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Committed to excellent customer service.
• Ability to manage cash and non-cash payments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
• Perform state specific tests and inspections according to local regulations and the DEKRA standards.
• Performs Technician duties such as inspect fluids, changing oil and oil filters, cabin filters, tire pressure, rotating tires, replace bulbs and wipers.
• Perform product sales and services.
• Deliver all services and address all customers with exceptional customer service.
• Answer telephone calls and assist customers by answering any questions and/or addressing any concerns.
• Effectively manage cash and non-cash payment received; daily reconciliation and deposits.
• Maintain the property, grounds, and equipment at the station.
• Complete required tasks outlined in the daily checklists at your station.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to DEKRA standards.
• Ensure safety practices in bay area, secure bay chains, safety glasses, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
