Job summary

Herbert Automotive in Cumming, GA seeks a Technician B to perform a broad range of automotive services including brakes, oil changes, transmissions, and cooling system maintenance. You will educate customers on preventive maintenance and handle various service tasks with an emphasis on safety and quality.

The role involves working from repair orders, collaborating with the Center Manager, and maintaining a clean, organized shop environment while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Three or more years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
• Valid Driver's License
• State Emission Certification (if applicable in your state)
• Current ASE Certifications are a plus
• State Vehicle Inspector Certification (if applicable in your state)

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Work on more complex repairs and diagnostics than Tech C, including electrical systems and minor engine work.
• Assist Tech A and train Tech C; repair brakes, A/C, transmissions, power steering and suspension.
• Diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
• Document all work performed and test drive as needed.
• Maintain tool inventory and shop cleanliness; follow safety guidelines.
