Job summary

HGreg is seeking a detail oriented Hourly Technician to join our automotive service team in Houston, TX. You will inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks, using diagnostic tools and manufacturer guidelines.

Work is an 8-hour shift with Saturdays and two days off weekly. You must hold a valid in-state driver's license and be insurable under our policy. We offer health, vision insurance, PTO, life insurance, paid training, and EAP to support your professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Identify problems using diagnostic equipment
• Plan work procedures with manuals and experience
• Test parts and systems to ensure proper operation
• Follow checklists to inspect critical parts
• Perform basic maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, tire care
• Repair or replace worn parts to specs
• Explain problems and repairs to clients
• Adhere to Shop Foreman requests

SUMMARY

HGreg is looking for a detail oriented and motivated Hourly Technician to work in our locations. Automotive service technicians and mechanics inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks.

REPORTS TO

Shop Foreman

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Identify problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment
• Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience
• Test parts and systems to ensure that they work properly
• Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined
• Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and tire maintenance
• Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors
• Perform repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications
• Explain automotive problems and repairs to clients
• Any and all other items not here listed but requested by the Shop Foreman

SCHEDULE

• 8-hour shift including Saturday's
• 2 days off/week

LICENSE

Must maintain a valid in-state Driver's License and be considered insurable with the dealerships insurance policy.
