Job summary

HGreg is looking for a detail oriented and motivated Hourly Technician to work in our Houston locations. Automotive service technicians inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks, using diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer guidelines.

You will report to the Shop Foreman and perform oil changes, tire maintenance, brake work, and basic diagnostics. This role requires a valid Texas driver's license and the ability to work Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and motivated hourly technician.
• Must maintain a valid in-state Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Identify automotive problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Plan work procedures using manuals and experience.
• Test parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Follow checklists to examine critical parts.
• Perform oil changes, fluid checks, and basic tire maintenance.
• Repair or replace worn parts per manufacturer specs.
• Explain problems and repairs to clients.
• Other duties as requested by the Shop Foreman.

SUMMARY:

HGreg is looking for a detail oriented and motivated Hourly Technician to work in our locations. Automotive service technicians and mechanics inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks.

REPORTS TO:

Shop Foreman

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Identify problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment
• Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience
• Test parts and systems to ensure that they work properly
• Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined
• Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and tire maintenance
• Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors
• Perform repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications
• Explain automotive problems and repairs to clients
• Any and all other items not here listed but requested by the Shop Foreman

SCHEDULE:

• 8-hour shift including Saturday’s
• 2 days off/week

LICENSE:

Must maintain a valid in-state Driver’s License and be considered insurable with the dealerships insurance policy.
