Job summary

Christian Brothers Automotive in Lakeland is seeking an entry-level Technician’s Helper & Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) Specialist. You will support senior technicians, manage vehicle flow, and handle digital inspections to free masters for repairs.

You’ll use a shop tablet for thorough vehicle inspections, capture photos of parts, assess tire wear and fluid levels, and help with setups, tool management, and safety.

Qualifications

• Basic automotive knowledge and ability to safely turn a wrench.

Job Description

What the Role Is:

We are looking for a tech-savvy, entry-level individual with a baseline knowledge of cars to join us as a Technician’s Helper & Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) Specialist.

Instead of being thrown straight into complex flat-rate repairs, you will be the ultimate right-hand helper to our senior technicians. You will manage the flow of vehicles and handle our digital inspections. By taking the time-consuming inspection process off our master techs' plates, you allow them to focus on repairs, while you get an upfront, hands-on seat to learn exactly how professional diagnostics and repairs are done.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shop Flow: Safely and correctly drive, rack, and lift customer vehicles on our shop lifts.
• Digital Inspections (DVI): Use a shop tablet to perform thorough vehicle inspections—taking clear photos of parts, assessing tire wear, checking fluid levels, and documenting overall vehicle health.
• Tech Support: Assist our experienced technicians with setups, tool management, and heavy lifting as needed.
• Shop Pride: Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

• Basic Automotive Knowledge: You know your way around an engine bay, understand basic fluid locations, and know how to safely turn a wrench.
• Experience: Experience working at a quick-lube chain, tire center, or enrollment in a local trade program (TCAT, Moore Tech, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using an iPad or tablet to take clear photos and navigate inspection software.
• Safety Minded: Absolute commitment to safety, especially when driving and lifting customer vehicles.
• Reliability: A positive attitude, a desire to learn, and the reliability to show up on time every Monday through Friday.
• Requirements: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
