Job summary

Flexcar in Houston, TX is seeking an Automotive Technician to perform basic mechanical and cosmetic repairs on fleet vehicles under minimal supervision.

This full-time, non-exempt position pays $20/hr plus a full benefits package and a tool package; a growth-focused environment supports your skill development. You will join a team serving large fleet partners and contribute to routine maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive repair experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift tools and supplies up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Identify, order, and maintain correct supplies and parts to service vehicles.
• Use hand tools, shop equipment, and relevant chemicals safely and effectively.
• Perform mechanical repairs such as oil changes, tire changes/rotations, battery installs, air filter replacements, and wiper exchanges.
• Conduct inspections including tire and visual brake checks, underbody assessment, suspensions shake-downs.
• Follow standard operating procedures and keep work area clean and hazard-free.
• Review work orders for accuracy and document parts installed.
• Utilize computers and internal systems to complete daily tasks.
• Assist in onboarding new associates and support team needs.
