Job summary

CARCARE AAA Car Care Centers, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking automotive service technicians to perform routine maintenance and basic repairs in our on-site shop. Roles include oil changes, tire work, and general vehicle maintenance, with progression from General Service Tech to Technician A/B/C depending on experience.

Location Details

This is an onsite position located in our Charleston Car Care Facility.


Schedule / Shift

Service center hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Schedule and shift assignments will depend on the technician position and level.


Position Summary

ACG Car Care Technicians complete routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks, as directed by a manager or Service Advisor. They spend their day performing basic automotive repair, adjustments and maintenance procedures, including, but not limited to; oil changes, tire replacement & repairs and general vehicle maintenance.


Key Responsibilities


  • General Service Tech:
    Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for,and complete digital vehicle inspection
    Performs general automotive maintenance and repairs
    Test drive vehicles and preparevehiclesfor delivery tocustomers, after necessary repairs and maintenance are complete
    Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positivemember/customerexperience
    Learn from Technician A, B,and C colleagues to further advance your career

  • Technician C: All General Service Tech opportunities plus:
    Perform automotive repairs, adjustments and maintenance procedures as outlined on repair orders
    Complete fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services, basic repair, and maintenance services, etc.

  • Technician B: All TechCopportunities plus:
    Work with, mentor,and train less experienced Technicians
    Performs all Service Technician C duties plusadvanced repair and maintenance services.

  • Technician A: All TechB opportunitiesplus:
    Work with, mentor,and train less experienced Technicians
    Completeelectrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, drivability diagnostics, etc.


Qualifications


  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • All Service TechsHave a High School diploma, GED,ortechnicalschool certification

    • Possessavalid driver’s license

    • Have mechanical aptitude

    • Are knowledgeable about automotive and/or truck systems, tools,and technical resources,andcanindependently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles

    • Understand and consistentlydemonstratethe proper use of equipment and tools used in such repair and maintenance, and the need tomaintaina clean, safe,and organized work area

    • Canconsistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores


  • PreferredQualifications (GeneralServiceTech):

    • G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred

    • State inspection certificate where applicable

    • AC 609 Certification


  • Minimum Qualifications (TechnicianC):

    • All General Service Tech requirements plus: Minimum of 6 months relevant experience in automotive repair or completion of formal automotive training program.


  • PreferredQualifications (TechnicianC):

    • All General Service Tech preferred qualifications plus: ASE Certifications(ortheir equivalent).

    • A4-Suspension &Steering, A5-Brakes

    • AC 609 Certification


  • Minimum Qualifications (TechnicianB):

    • All CTech requirements plus: 3 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center


  • PreferredQualifications (TechnicianC):

    • AllC Tech preferred qualifications plus: Two other ASEcertifications(or their equivalent)

    • AC 609 Certification


  • Minimum Qualifications (TechnicianA):

    • All B Tech requirements plus: 5 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center


  • PreferredQualifications (TechnicianA):

    • All B Tech preferred requirements plus: ASE Certifications (A1 – A8) with Master Technician designation or the equivalentcombination of technician certifications and ASE certifications.

    • ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist

    • AC 609 Certification



Work Environment

May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment. This position involves standing, walking, and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting, and carrying automotive parts and equipment (averaging up to approximately 80 pounds in weight). Must have own tools appropriate for their skill level for use in the center. Must be able to work in the heat, as some locations do not have air conditioning. Fans are present in all facilities. Must be able to maintain working on your feet in a concrete facility for the entire work shift.


Compensation & Benefits Overview

ACG complies with all applicable state and local laws regarding required benefits (including PTO, paid sick leave, etc.). Compensation Pay rates starting at(rate based on experience + annual bonuseligibility) General Service Tech: $15 - $17 hourly C Technician:$17 - $25 hourly, based on production B Technician:$40,000 - $70,000+; hourly base withaweekly productionbonus opportunity. A Technician:$65,000 - $110,000+; hourly base withaweekly productionbonus opportunity.

  • Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month.

  • Paid Holidays: Full-time employees are eligible for 10 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day, 2 floating holidays and 1 volunteer day. Holidays vary by business unit schedules.

  • Part-time employees are eligible for 8 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays. Holidays vary by business unit schedules.
