Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced automotive technician in Warwick, RI to diagnose and repair vehicles, perform multi-point inspections, and maintain safety and warranty documentation in alignment with manufacturer and dealership standards.

The successful candidate will have ASE and manufacturer certifications, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively on complex tasks in a fast-paced service environment.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications and manufacturer certifications are highly preferred.
• Previous automotive technician experience is required.
• Must have basic tools and strong technical/mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and diagnosis on customer vehicles.
• Perform light engine work, transmission, clutch, drive shaft, electrical, HVAC, steering and suspension repairs.
• Complete multi-point inspections on each vehicle.
• Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair orders.
• Communicate with service advisors when additional work is needed or repairs may miss the promised time.
• Maintain technician proficiency according to Asbury standards.
• Conduct road tests when necessary and practical.
• Complete warranty repair order documentation, timekeeping and warranty claims.
• Report safety, welfare or dealership-integrity concerns to management.
• Return customer vehicles as clean as received.
• Comply with OSHA Right-to-Know and hazardous waste disposal requirements.

Job description

• • Perform routine repairs and diagnosis on customer vehicles, with some assistance
• • Perform light engine work, transmission, clutch, drive shaft, electrical, HVAC, steering and suspension repairs
• • Complete multi-point inspections on each vehicle
• • Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair orders
• • Communicate with service advisors when additional work is needed or repairs may miss the promised time
• • Maintain technician proficiency according to Asbury standards
• • Conduct road tests when necessary and practical
• • Perform all levels of vehicle diagnosis, repair and preventive/routine maintenance
• • Complete manufacturer and management-assigned product and technical training
• • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools
• • Maintain manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Index at or above Asbury goals
• • Complete warranty repair order documentation, timekeeping and warranty claims
• • Report safety, welfare or dealership-integrity concerns to management
• • Return customer vehicles as clean as received
• • Complete required compliance training, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know
• • Comply with federal, state and local laws and company policies safeguarding customer vehicles, property and information

Requirements

• ASE certifications heavily preferred
• Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
• Previous automotive technician experience required
• Must have basic tools
• Must have great technical and mechanical skills
• Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test)
