Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) in Buffalo, NY to perform essential repairs and routine maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles. You’ll handle oil changes, brakes, tires, suspension, and diagnostic work with guidance from senior technicians as you grow your skills.

The role emphasizes safety and reliability to keep customers on the road. Valid ASE certifications and a willingness to obtain additional certs within the first year are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels; able to lift up to 50 pounds; on-site role.
• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal supervision.
• Includes oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs, and other routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs.
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repairs as skills grow.
• Maintain vehicle reliability and safety to reduce downtime and ensure vehicles are ready for customers.
