Job summary

Pep Boys in Oklahoma City is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services, while delivering an excellent customer experience.

You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers, stay current with automotive technology, mentor teammates, and maintain a clean, safe shop. A High School Diploma or GED and 6 months of repair experience are required, with ASE/609 certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months automotive repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid drivers license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (employees and customers) as needed.
• Continuously learn new techniques through formal training to stay updated with automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain organized and neat shop and adhere to company safety policies.
