Job summary

Scharmach Automotive Group seeks an Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency. You will work with the service team to deliver high-quality repairs and timely maintenance for a broad range of makes and models.

The role requires at least 2 years of experience, a strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. WA licensure is required; excellent teamwork and customer communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training or ASE certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient with automotive diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Adhere to department processes for video electronic Multipoint Inspections.
  • Perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and fluid flushes.
  • Repair or replace parts, such as engines, transmissions, and suspension components, according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Document all services performed, including diagnostic findings, repairs completed, and parts used.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental standards in the workplace.
  • Stay updated on technical training and certifications for various vehicle makes and models.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with service advisors and customers about vehicle issues, repair timelines, and costs.
