Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service is seeking an Automotive Technician / Mechanic to diagnose and repair customer vehicles in a busy shop. You will follow MAP guidelines and company standards while communicating clearly with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities include performing multi-point inspections, documenting diagnoses, and recommending services to keep vehicles safe and reliable. ASE certifications are preferred; a valid driver’s license and ability to work Saturdays are required.

Qualifications

• Possess current, valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training.
• Must be able to work Monday - Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses vehicles according to appropriate certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (store manager, service consultants, customers).
• Recommends services to keep the vehicle in running condition and documents recommendations in the customer file.
• Follows safety procedures and reports concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
