Job summary

Sterling KIA in Lafayette, LA is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of vehicles in a fast-paced Service Department. You will perform routine maintenance, use diagnostic equipment, and ensure safety and quality on every repair.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on diagnosis and repair experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years professional automotive diagnosis & repair experience.
• ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
• Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicles according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, air conditioning, and other vehicle components.
• Use diagnostic equipment and testing procedures to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure quality workmanship.
• Document completed repairs and communicate findings with Service Advisors and management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with manufacturer technology and repair procedures.
