Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking an automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to stakeholders and continuously learn to stay updated with evolving automotive tech.

Responsibilities include diagnosing repairs to specifications across brakes, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment, mentoring others, and maintaining a clean, safe

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
• Perform duties of all lower roles (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals when required.
• Continuously learn new techniques in formal training sessions to stay updated.
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and adhere to safety policies.
