Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet our high standards for safety and performance. You will work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility and have access to advanced tools and ongoing training to grow your technical expertise.

Compensation includes an hourly pay rate of $24.70 to $41.94, with a new hire bonus up to $5,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• ASE certifications in Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, and more.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax’s high standards for quality and safety
• Collaborate with a skilled team to solve technical challenges quickly and effectively
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles
• Uphold CarMax’s commitment to customer satisfaction and trust
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
