Job summary

Sullivan Motors is seeking an experienced A Level Automotive Technician to join a state-of-the-art shop in New Jersey. You will diagnose, repair, and mentor, ensuring repairs meet manufacturer specs and safety standards.

Responsibilities include engine and transmission work, reading wiring diagrams, using scan tools, and providing technical explanations to customers. A strong leadership mindset and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • Must be able to perform advanced diagnostic procedures on engine, transmission, electrical and computer systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and service bulletins.
  • Proficiency with scan tools and specialized equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

  • Conduct final quality checks on vehicles before customer delivery.
  • Document work performed and maintain warranty/dealership compliance.
  • Stay current on new automotive technology and participate in ongoing training.
  • Assist service advisors with technical explanations for customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

WE ARE SEEKING QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS TO JOIN OUR TEAM AS AN A LEVEL AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN. AS A KEY MEMBER OF OUR SERVICE TEAM, YOU WILL PLAY A CRICIAL ROLE IN ENSURING THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR.


What does an A Level Automotive Technician Do?


  • Perform advanced diagnostic procedures on engine, transmission, electrical, and computer systems.

  • Complete complex repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission replacements.

  • Use OEM and aftermarket diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot drivability and electrical issues.

  • Ensure all repair work meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

  • Provide leadership by mentoring and training B-level technicians.

  • Conduct final quality checks on vehicles before customer delivery.

  • Accurately document work performed and maintain compliance with warranty and dealership requirements.

  • Stay current on new automotive technology and participate in ongoing training.

  • Assist service advisors with technical explanations for customers.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of professional automotive repair experience.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of advanced diagnostic procedures.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.

    • Proficiency with scan tools and specialized equipment.

    • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

    • Ability to complete complex repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission replacements.



  • Other Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
