Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate at our West Point, VA facility to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards. You’ll work with a collaborative team in a climate-controlled shop, gaining hands-on experience on domestic and foreign vehicles.

The role emphasizes engine, brake, steering, suspension, and HVAC work, with strict adherence to EH&S rules and a focus on customer satisfaction. ASE certs are encouraged where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience with engine repair, steering/suspension, brakes and HVAC as needed.
• Strong health and safety compliance awareness.
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail; valid driver’s license.
• ASE certifications in applicable areas encouraged where required.
