Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet high safety and quality standards. You will work in a climate-controlled facility, collaborating with a skilled team and using advanced tools to service engines, brakes, steering, and suspension.

Ideal candidates will have experience with engine repair and HVAC systems, plus ASE certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience with diagnosing and repairing engines, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance and safe work practices.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• A valid driver’s license and ASE certifications where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with a team to address technical challenges efficiently.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow EH&S guidelines.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction by delivering reliable vehicle reconditioning.
