Job summary
AutoNation is seeking an Auto Technician to join our team in Spokane, WA. Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance to dealer and factory standards and interact daily with Customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Cashiers, Sales Associates and Managers.
Our Flat-Rate Technicians earn between $26-$51+ per hour based on experience, trainings, and certifications, with longevity bonuses and a retention bonus of $5,000+ for qualifying candidates.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid in-state driver’s license.
- Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned to dealer and factory standards.
- Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized by the customer.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend safety improvements.
- Document work on the repair order.
- Maintain tools and stay updated with factory bulletins and trainings.
- Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

We're looking for an Auto Technician or Auto Mechanic to join our team, and we're interested in talking to candidates at an experienced level. As an Auto Technician, you'll perform vehicle repairs as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. - Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
- Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
- Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
- Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
- Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
- Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as "special tools."
- Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.

The performance of a Senior Technician is measured by achieving:
- Targeted production
- Targeted Customer Satisfaction Index
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician
- Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
- Attention to detail
- Organization and follow-up skills
- Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
