Job summary

Genesis of Schererville is hiring an Automotive Technician for a full-time position. The role requires strong diagnostic abilities and efficiency in performing repairs at a brand-new luxury dealership serving Northwest Indiana and the Chicago area.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction, and the team will work in a state-of-the-art facility with modern equipment. ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance per repair order and dealership procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional needed work and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under factory specifications and warranty where applicable.

Automotive Technician- Full Time

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic abilities, efficiency in performing repairs, and excellent communication skills to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership procedures
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• ASE certifications preferred but not required

• Strong teamwork skills
• Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
• Must have clean & valid driver's license
