Job summary

Midwest Tire & Service is a growing automotive & tire service shop located in Salem, Indiana. We are hiring an experienced Automotive Technician to lead the mechanical side of our shop, handle the majority of diagnostic work, and perform in-depth repairs with a growing team.

The ideal candidate is dependable, experienced, and comfortable taking the lead on complex jobs while mentoring others. We offer a hybrid pay structure with hourly pay plus monthly commission and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong automotive repair and diagnostic experience.
• Able to work independently and efficiently.
• Experience with scan tools and electrical diagnostics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Own tools preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Dependable, motivated, and willing to grow with the business.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshoot vehicle issues
• Complete in-depth mechanical repairs
• Handle suspension, steering, brakes, engine-related repairs, and other major services
• Help guide and support other technicians when needed
• Maintain quality workmanship and efficiency
• Communicate needed repairs clearly with the service writer/management team
• Keep work area clean, organized, and professional
