Trehan Automotive Inc. in Oak Lawn is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at our dealership service center. You will use dealership computer software and have extensive knowledge of vehicle systems to identify issues.

If you approach problems with persistence, enjoy problem solving, and deliver clear repair information to customers, we want to hear from you. ASE/SAE training is preferred and a strong focus on customer satisfaction is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• ASE/SAE certification is a plus; strong customer service and communications skills required.
• Experience in an automotive service environment and using diagnostic tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes.
• Help establish service center procedures for tracking repair status and documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance: tire rotations, oil changes, brake pad replacements.
• Conduct in-depth inspections of engine, transmission, brakes and other systems.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Convey repair information clearly to customers.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Automotive Technician to join our successful dealership service center.

As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles. You must be comfortable using the dealership’s computer software and have extensive knowledge of vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

• Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
• Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
• Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
• Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
• Strong customer service and communications skills are required
