Job summary

MaineGuide in Woolwich, ME is seeking a skilled automotive technician to join our family-owned dealership. The role focuses on fixing current electrical systems and upcoming EVs, with extensive Subaru training provided in-house.

Qualifications

• State Inspection license.
• Proper box and tools.
• Electric Diagnosis skills.
• High voltage/heavy powertrain repair experience with welding and torch skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor to inform customers about additional services needed.
• Provide time estimates for repairs and execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specs.

We are not your typical new car dealer. We are family-operated and owned and have been in business for 48 years. We own and run one dealership and it is our livelihood. We are looking for the right candidate to train to fix the upcoming electric vehicles and the current electrical systems in new Subaru's. Without a Factory Trained Technician, we will not be able to service customer cars effectively. Cars are becoming moving computers and the electrical diagnosis is very difficult if you can become effective at fixing upcoming electric cars and current electrical systems the sky is the limit.

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

• State Inspection license
• Proper box and tools
• ASE certification (not required)
• Electric Diagnosis skills
• Heavy powertrain repair, welding, and torch skillsi>
• Subaru training or prior Subaru mechanical experience
• Clean and valid driver's license
