Job summary

Boyd’s Tire & Service in Central Ohio seeks an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles in line with MAP guidelines and manufacturer standards.

The role offers hourly pay of $40-$50 plus a flag rate, with tuition reimbursement, paid vacation and sick time, holidays, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Opportunities for advancement are available.

Qualifications

• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training (3+ years of senior level experience).
• Possess valid driver’s license and clear MVR.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses vehicles according to certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the inspection/repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains diagnoses and needed repairs to managers, service consultants, or customers.
• Recommends services to keep the vehicle running and documents recommendations.

The Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers and Boyd’s Tire standards.

COMPENSATION: $40-$50/ hour consisting of hourly + flag rate

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
